Notice of Highfill Planning Commission Meeting

The Highfill Planning Commission will hold its regular meeting on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 2560 W Hwy 12, Highfill, AR 72734.

Meeting Guidelines:

  • Please sign in when you arrive.

  • Agendas and supporting materials are available ahead of time to help residents stay informed.
  • Public Hearing: Your input counts! Come be part of the conversation and share your thoughts on upcoming public hearing items. If you can’t make it in person, you’re welcome to send in your comments ahead of time.

This Month’s Agenda Highlights:

Public Hearing: Rezoning Request – 6975 NW Hutchens Road
Your voice matters! The rezoning request for 6975 NW Hutchens Road will be the public hearing item on this month’s agenda. We encourage you to attend, ask questions, and share your thoughts. If you can’t make it in person, written comments may be submitted ahead of time.

Applicant: Bentonville Investment Ventures, LLC (represented by Swope Consulting)
Request: Rezone approximately 15 acres from Rural Residential (RR) to Residential Multifamily (R-3).
Purpose: To allow future development of townhomes/duplexes and provide additional housing options in response to regional growth near XNA.

Adjacent property owners were notified, and the hearing provides an important opportunity for community input [publication].

If the Planning Commission approves the request, it will move forward to the October City Council meeting for consideration.

Approval of Minutes: The Commission will review and approve the minutes from the August 26, 2025, meeting, including updates on the City’s Comprehensive Plan and approval of the preliminary plat for Polo Park Estates.

Understanding the Planning Commission’s Role

The Planning Commission plays a key role in guiding the city’s growth. This volunteer board reviews land use proposals, zoning requests, and subdivision plans to ensure they align with Highfill’s zoning regulations and comprehensive plan.

Public input is welcome—but please note: residents may only speak on public hearing items listed on the agenda. This helps ensure comments are focused on proposals under formal review.

In contrast, during City Council meetings, residents are invited to speak during the Public Comment section of the agenda. Unlike Planning Commission meetings, this portion allows you to address the Council on any topic, not just agenda items.

Meeting agendas and supporting materials are posted in advance, so you can stay informed about topics that may impact your neighborhood.
