Tree Giveaways | Grow a Greener Community

The City of Highfill takes pride in its designation as a Tree City USA community! This status highlights our commitment to tree care, environmental stewardship, and enhancing the quality of life for our residents.

Why Tree City USA Matters

Being a Tree City USA provides numerous benefits to our community:

  • Encourages tree care and planting programs.
  • Engages citizens in planting and maintaining community trees.
  • Supports the adoption of tree ordinances to promote tree stewardship.
  • Ensures dedicated oversight of community trees.
  • Promotes adequate funding for tree care programs.
  • Enhances the livability of our neighborhoods.
  • Can attract new businesses to the area.
  • Helps city officials understand the importance of tree conservation.
  • Offers opportunities for public education and media coverage about tree care.
  • Places tree stewardship on par with other city services.
  • Supports individuals interested in the welfare of trees.
  • Celebrates Arbor Day and introduces children to trees.
  • Stimulates the growth and improvement of community forestry programs.
  • Can provide points for grant applications.

To support our commitment to a greener community, we partner with the Walton Family Foundation and the Arkansas Forestry Division to host three annual tree giveaways.

The 2025 Fall Tree Giveaway was a wonderful success! Throughout the morning, dozens of residents came together to pick up free trees, learn about proper tree care, and take part in our city’s ongoing effort to grow a greener community.

In addition to the strong turnout, the event featured guidance from city staff and forestry experts who helped residents select the right trees for their homes. As a result, many participants left not only with new trees, but also with valuable knowledge about tree planting and maintenance.

Furthermore, we’d like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Pulse Community Agency, a local Highfill business, for generously capturing the event through stunning photos and videos. Thanks to their contribution, we’re able to share the excitement and community pride that make Highfill such a special place to live.
