Annual Community Clean-Up

The City of Highfill invites residents to participate in our Annual Community Clean-Up Event, an opportunity to dispose of unwanted household items and help keep our community clean, safe, and beautiful.

By working together, we can make a positive impact on our neighborhoods and the environment.

📅 Event Details

Dates: Available afternoon of April 10 through April 12 until full!
Drop-Off Location:
Highfill City Hall
2560 W Highway 12
Highfill, AR 72734

Service Type: Self-Service Dumpsters
Dumpsters will be available until they reach capacity.

Residents are responsible for unloading their own items.


🚛 Accepted Items

The following household items may be placed in the dumpsters:

  • Household junk
  • Small furniture
  • Small appliances

❌ Items NOT Accepted

For safety, environmental, and disposal regulations, the following items cannot be accepted:

Automotive & Mechanical Items

  • Used motor oil
  • Automobile parts (tires, gas tanks, motors, doors, hoods, etc.)
  • Riding lawnmowers
  • Vehicle batteries (wet or dry cell)

Hazardous Materials

  • Paint and bulk liquids
  • Oil and waste oil
  • Aerosol cans
  • Fertilizers and chemicals
  • Medical waste
  • Explosives or ammunition
  • Flammable substances
  • Radioactive materials

Construction & Heavy Materials

  • Concrete, rock, soil
  • Cast iron bathtubs
  • Construction debris (shingles, lumber, etc.)
  • Railroad ties or landscape timbers (treated wood)

Household & Utility Items

  • White goods (refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, stoves, dishwashers, hot water tanks, appliance compressors)
  • Electric transformers or dielectric fluids
  • Fluorescent, CFL, and HID bulbs
  • Propane tanks

Yard & Organic Waste

  • Leaves
  • Grass clippings
  • Limbs or branches
  • Stumps
  • Yard waste of any kind
  • Animal carcasses

Other Prohibited Items

  • Pesticide containers (unless triple-rinsed and punctured)
  • Domestic septic tank pumpings

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

This event is intended for Highfill residents only. City staff may ask for proof of residency if necessary.

No registration is required. Residents may simply bring their items to the designated drop-off location during the event dates.

Yes. This event is intended for normal household clean-up items. Large loads, commercial dumping, or contractor debris are not allowed.

City staff may limit loads if necessary to ensure dumpsters remain available for all residents.

Yes. The dumpsters are self-service, meaning residents are responsible for unloading their own items into the dumpsters.

Dumpsters are available until they reach capacity. Once full, the clean-up event will end unless additional dumpsters are available.

Residents are encouraged to come early during the event dates

No. Yard waste is not accepted at this event, including:

  • Leaves
  • Grass clippings
  • Branches or limbs
  • Tree stumps

No. Items such as refrigerators, washers, dryers, stoves, dishwashers, and water heaters are not accepted during the community clean-up.

Certain materials are restricted due to safety concerns, environmental regulations, or landfill restrictions. Hazardous materials and certain large items require specialized disposal.
