Understanding the Water and Sewer Committee’s Role

The Highfill Water and Sewer Committee serves in an advisory and oversight role for the City’s water and wastewater systems. Operating under the authority of the Highfill City Council and established by Title 10, Utilities, of the Highfill Municipal Code, the Committee helps ensure the City’s utility infrastructure remains reliable, efficient, and prepared to meet the community’s needs.

The Committee reviews utility operations, infrastructure projects, and long-term planning efforts. Members also evaluate opportunities to improve the City’s water and wastewater systems, including system expansions and capital improvements when funding is available.

The Committee also considers matters affecting utility operations, water conservation, system maintenance, and the City’s overall utility infrastructure. When Council action is required, the Committee may provide recommendations to the City Council for consideration.

Through regular meetings and ongoing oversight, the Water and Sewer Committee helps protect the City’s investment in its utility systems while supporting reliable water and wastewater services for Highfill residents and businesses.
