The City of Highfill is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on the Planning Commission. This is an exciting opportunity to serve your community and help guide future growth and development in Highfill and its surrounding planning jurisdiction.
About the Planning Commission:
The Planning Commission consists of five members and is responsible for:
✔️ Reviewing development proposals
✔️ Making zoning and subdivision recommendations
✔️ Assisting with long-term planning goals
✔️ Promoting coordinated, strategic growth
✔️ Advising the City Council on land use matters
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must reside within the City of Highfill
- At least two-thirds of Commission members must not hold any other municipal office
- Must be appointed by a majority vote of the City Council following nomination by the Mayor or any Council member
Commission Term:
This appointment will fill the remainder of an unexpired term. All terms begin January 1 and last five years. Members serve until their successors are appointed and qualified.
