Overview of Responsibilities
The Highfill Planning Commission is a volunteer advisory board that plays an important role in guiding the city’s physical growth and development. Commissioners review proposals to ensure consistency with the City’s adopted zoning regulations and long-term comprehensive plan.

- Land use proposals
- Zoning requests
- Subdivision plans
Public Participation
Planning Commission Meetings
Public input is welcome; however, comments are limited to public hearing items listed on the meeting agenda. This ensures feedback is directly related to proposals under formal review.
City Council Meetings
Residents may speak during the Public Comment section of the agenda. Comments are not limited to agenda items and may address any topic of concern.

Meeting materials are published in advance to help residents stay informed about projects and proposals.
