City Council Vacancy – Ward 3, Position 2
The City of Highfill is seeking applicants to fill an open seat on the City Council for Ward 3, Position 2. This position serves as an Alderman, representing Ward 3 residents and helping guide decisions that impact our growing community. Council Members are elected by ward and must be qualified electors residing within the ward they represent.
Appointment Details:
- When a vacancy occurs, City Council members are appointed to fill the open seat.
- The current term for this position is set to expire on December 31, 2026.

🗓 City Council Meetings:
Regular City Council meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM at City Hall, with additional special meetings called as needed.

Applications will be accepted until 4:30 PM on Tuesday, April 14th.

Applicants are also encouraged to attend the April 14th City Council Meeting, where the position will be filled. The meeting will take place in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
💡 How to Run for Re-Election in 2026
For those interested in running for municipal office in the General Election on November 3, 2026, the following steps apply under the Mayor-Council Form of Government:
- Petition Circulation: May 7, 2026 – petitions may begin circulation 90 days prior to filing deadline.
- Filing Period: Begins NOON, July 29, 2026, and ends NOON, August 5, 2026.
- Filing Locations:
- Bentonville: Benton County Admin Bldg., 215 E Central Avenue, Suite 217
- Rogers: 2111 W Walnut
- Siloam Springs: 707 S Lincoln Street, Suite C
- Required Forms: Nominating Petition, Affidavit of Eligibility, Petition Affidavit, and Political Practices Pledge (provided at filing).
- Signature Requirements:
- City of the First Class: at least 30 qualified electors
- City of the Second Class or Incorporated Town: at least 10 qualified electors
- Financial & Campaign Reporting:
- Statement of Financial Interest due August 10, 2026 (unless filed as incumbent).
- Pre-election Campaign Report (if >$500 in contributions/expenditures) due October 26, 2026.
- Final Campaign Report due December 31, 2026.
- Voter Registration Deadline for General Election: October 5, 2026
- Early Voting: October 19 – 31, plus Monday, November 2
