Independence Day Closure & Fireworks Safety

City Hall will close early today at 3:30 p.m. in observance of Independence Day and will remain closed through Friday, July 3rd. City offices will reopen for regular business hours on Monday, July 6th.

We encourage residents to plan ahead and complete any permits, utility payments, or other City business before the early closure. City staff will resume normal processing and respond to inquiries once offices reopen.

Service Availability Notice
During the closure, City Hall will not process payments, permits, records requests, or general administrative services in person or by phone. Residents may continue to use available online services if applicable.

Fireworks Regulations – Important Notice

As residents celebrate Independence Day, the City of Highfill encourages everyone to follow local fireworks regulations to help keep the community safe.

Fireworks may be discharged on private property within the City of Highfill only during the approved dates and times below:

Allowed Dates & Times
• July 1, July 2, and July 3 — 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
• July 4 — 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Fireworks Restrictions
Fireworks are not permitted in the following areas or conditions:
• When a Benton County burn ban is in effect
• On any public property, including streets, roads, alleys, parking lots, and parks
• Within 600 feet of churches, public schools, or gasoline stations
• Within 200 feet of fireworks storage or sales locations

Safety Guidelines
• Do not use fireworks from or throw fireworks from a motor vehicle
• Never aim or direct fireworks toward people, animals, or property
• Maintain a safe distance and supervise all fireworks activity at all times
• Keep water or fire suppression materials nearby when using fireworks

Residents should also use caution during dry summer conditions, which can increase fire risk.
